A new species of Agrilus Curtis, 1825 from Brazil (Coleoptera Buprestidae)ABSTRACT
A research of Museu de Entomologia da FEIS/UNESP, campus de Ilha Solteira, São Paulo (SP) region, Brazil (MEFEIS) in order to monitoring the secondary xylophagous species, showed the presence of a new species of Agrilus Curtis, 1825 (Coleoptera Buprestidae) that is here described: Agrilus (Agrilus) flechtmanni n. sp. -

Preliminary contribution to the knowledge of Coleoptera Buprestidae from Atlantic rainforest regions of Rio Doce and Itacolomi State Parks of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The genera Agrilus Curtis, 1825, Autarcontes Waterhouse, 1887, and Geralius Harold, 1869ABSTRACT
A checklist of species belonging to Agrilus Curtis, 1825, Autarcontes Waterhouse, 1887, and Geralius Harold, 1869 genera found in Rio Doce and Itacolomi Estadual Parks is given. 19 species are listed, 5 of which are new for the science and here described: Agrilus pirilampo n. sp., A. disorientatus n. sp., A. coal n. sp., A. rarestriatus n. sp., A. taediosus n. sp. Most species were found in one sampling season and reflect a quite favourable rainforest for xylophagous species. The high dominance of Leguminosae large tree species could be related to this pattern. -

The genus Agrilus Curtis, 1825 (Coleoptera Buprestidae) is associated with arboreal and herbaceous vegetation, during both the preimaginal and imaginal stages, allowing sampling using direct research tools, such as nets and entomological umbrellas, or indirect sampling tools such as chromotropic traps or multi-funnel traps. In this article, we present two new species sampled in Maranhão (Gurupi Biological Reserve) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) respectively, using light and pitfall traps, which are unusual tools for sampling agrilofauna.
