    ABSTRACT
The Atlantic blue crab Callinectes sapidus Rathbun, 1896 (Crustacea Decapoda Portunidae) has been reported again in the Egadian archipelago (Sicily, Italy) after its first capture from the archipelago in 2020 by two fishers. The species, already known for years from the western coast of the island of Sicily, had never been captured from the archipelago before 2020. Following this initial report, the species has been observed and captured in 2023 in nearshore waters off the island of Favignana, situated approximately 20 km to the west of Sicily. This finding is consistent with the habit of the crustacean, which moves away from transitional waters during the reproduction period.
